Aquabelle is my Mani 32 sailboat that I bought in November of 2020. It is a racer/cruiser designed in the first half of the 1990ties by Svein Ingebrigtsen. It was one of the last sailing boats that were available to by at various finishnessned, i.e. you could enter a contract where you would do everything from laying up the laminate for the hull, all the way to buying a finished boat. Aquabelle is said by the previous owner to be hull number 7. The interior of Aquabelle was built entirely by the previous owner and has a none-standard layout compared to most of the other hulls.
The previous owner decided to build everything from scratch in sandwich made from dense polystyrene core and epoxy glassfibered skins, completely disregarding the prefeb interior structure. She should therefore be a lot lighter than the rest of the fleet according to the previous owner. I have not weighed her by myself so I don’t know yet.
When I bought her there were some major rebuild of the interior so there are a lot of projects for me to do. Finishing, trim work, rebuilding the navstation and electrical panel, updating the communication system, etc.
If you want to follow along on all the thing that happens with the boat I suggest you follow the facebook page, but otherwise most major or minor projects should be covered here in due course.
